This large vessel was made using a method called coil throwing where the artist uses large coils of clay to continue building the form on the pottery wheel. The piece is then finished with underglazes and clay slips before being fired in the kiln to nearly 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. This vessel can live outside but is recommended to be brought in if freezing temperatures are expected.
